Their bowl is huge and definitely will fill you up. It packed with flavor and not too heavy. The space is kind of tiny but service is quick so it's not too long of the wait.

This is a gem in our quiet and charming neighborhood of Madison Valley. I can't believe it took me so long to finally try. You order at the counter and have dinner delivered to your table. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The portions were great and the flavors were spot on. Broth and noodles are A+ I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

The perfect food for a cold winter day. Love how thick the udon noodles are. The tempura felt fresh and good quality ingredients. Come here very hungry because the overall food portions here are huge!

I was a bit taken aback walking in on a Sunday evening. They were severely understaffed (only one person taking orders, seating, and bussing--he is incredibly hardworking!). None of the tables were cleared, there was yelling in the back of the house, and the sanitation seemed quite questionable. However, let me tell you, all of this was made up for because the food is EXCEPTIONAL! We tried the following dishes: - **Salmon Donburi ($12)**: Soft, buttery seared salmon and a scoop of Ikura on a bed of delightfully seasoned purple rice. - **Basil Chicken Udon ($22)**: The portions are MASSIVE (I have never seen a bowl that large), the broth is richly flavorful and slightly spicy, and the noodles are chewy and fresh. - **Crab Roll ($15)**: So distinctive! An optimal rice-to-filling ratio with mayo-less real crab. I loved all the little extras they gave us, like the red bean jelly dessert (Yōkan), Japanese egg custard, and green pepper tempura. It's a small place with limited seating. There are lots of flies :') but put up with them--it's worth it!

Really good udon noodles! We came on a Saturday for lunch and there was no wait and a few available tables (you order at the front before picking a seat). I got the signature beef udon and my partner got the curry beef udon. The signature beef udon ended up being the right choice -- as someone else said below, the curry tastes like pre-packaged box curry and doesn't impart the flavor well with the beef. However, I found that the light broth of the signature beef udon was perfect for the beef, and the broth was really tasty! Many of the other reviews say that receiving the food after ordering took 10-15 minutes, but we ended up waiting 40 minutes or so for our food. They only have one chef, and AFAICT, only one person dedicated to bringing out all the dishes for everyone (the other staff members are either manning the register or helping the chef). This made the experience a little stressful as the other reviews made me think it would be a good place to get a quick bite.

This was our second time here, and we both think the first time was better but we probs just ordered things we liked more last time because we wanted to try new things. We got the tomato niku and the chicken lunch special, I thought lunch special would be smaller but it was the same size bowl with maybe less noodles. Overall we thought the tomato was a little light, and we were expecting something heavier , to us it lacked flavor but it might be nice if you want something light. The lunch special was good, very good for the price. I liked the classic niku I got last time more but this one is way cheaper. Service is super nice. And the place is nice and cozy. Would come back again and try more new things. It gets busy tho so watch out. Also we tried some of the crab rolls randomly and they were very fresh and made with real crab and had lettuce for a refreshing crisp taste. Crab roll - 8.5/10 Tomato - 6.5/10 Chicken lunch - 7.5

What an interesting place. It seemed very authentic. Loved the beef noodle soup with its condiments. They gave us 2 chawanmushi since I shared my meal with my 6 year old. She didn't like it but I thought it was nice. Food was great. The restaurant has 2 different seating sections and also a small outdoor area. You order first and pay at the counter and then you sit and they bring you the food. Would love to be back to try more from their menu.
